Change: The Most Important Aspect of Selling Real Estate

Recently you may have heard that the company Nokia was acquired by Microsoft. During the press conference to announce this take over the CEO of Nokia sadly said “We didn’t do anything wrong but somehow we lost.”


That may very well be true however not doing anything wrong simply is’t enough anymore. Nokia has always been a respectable company. They didn’t do anything wrong in their business model. However, the world changed too fast and they didn’t do what was right. Their opponents were too powerful and they were changing for the better.

The message of this story is, if you don’t change, you shall be removed from the competition. It’s not wrong if you don’t want to learn new things. However, if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with the times, you will be eliminated.

I have made many changes in the past year that affected my business in selling real estate. Some worked well and some did not but overall I learned from each experience. As a listing agent, I was extremely successful with getting my seller’s properties into bidding wars quickly using technology to do so. I was also able to sell those properties in a very short period of time. Many of them with only 2-5 days of showings.


I already know that other real estate brokers and agents will eventually figure out how I did that. Its just a matter of time. So I am already in search of the next piece of technology to propel myself to the next level.

The advantage you have yesterday, will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. You don’t have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors are doing it RIGHT, you can lose out and fail.

Those who refuse to learn and improve, will definitely one day become redundant and not relevant to their industry. Be it real estate or anything else. They will learn the lesson in a hard and expensive way.
